But It’s Rahman

Long time back (not so long J ), I was sitting at my friend’s room and was listening a track of a new movie. Lyrics were not that good (at that time it seemed bad J ) but still I was trying to finish the song. Mean while one of my friend came at the desktop and said what kind of idiotic song I am listening. I told him that it’s a song of new movie,”Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na”. He made a who-cares face and I had to tell him that “It’s Rahman”. He joined me right away and we both listened to that song in a pin drop silence.

The track was “Pappu can’t dance sala”

Now when people are talking about the new CWG theme including Sukhwinder, I am just wondering that are they out of their minds? Specially you Sukhwinder :X

One can’t just blame his creation. We are not supposed to forget that he is the man who composed some extraordinary music. He may be not that good in Hindi and could be the reason people didn’t like the song, but still he was in pressure and human mistakes are inevitable(though I have joined the community “Rahman is God” in Orkut :D). People have their own taste e.g. I don’t like the songs of Yuvraj, and currently don’t listen the tracks of Robot much, I like the song ‘O Saya’ more than ‘Jai ho’.

But I still listen the Bombay Theme before bed, I like his voice in “kabhi neem neem kabhi sahad sahad”, I love the starting music of RGB, I like the song “Ye jo desh hai tera” though I haven’t been abroad yet :D, I do listen the track “Vande Matram” even if its not independence day, I love the song “Taxi-Taxi” (Tamil)even I don’t understand a single word of the song (apart from taxi-taxi),I ….the list will go on and on.

And if people think that 5 Crore is too much then Google a little about Kasab.

I want to thank Rahman for giving us some of the best music of the world (remember Roja), and will keep listening to his songs.Good, bad or ugly

Working Hours vs. Work and Money

Starting with an article dated 25 November 2008 of Times of India with heading “IT goes for more working hours”
The staring paragraph of this article was: “Technology firms are increasing working hours and monitoring the hours worked far more rigorously than ever before in a bid to squeeze more out of employees in these difficult times.”
But the question arise that does increasing working hours will increase the productivity?? An increase in working hours will directly impact productivity and revenues, but how?
The reason is:” By increasing work hours by an hour a day an employee works an additional 22 hours a month. If an hour of his/her work is billed at $20, the company makes an additional billing of $440 per employee. That means, in rupee terms, a single employee can bring in additional revenues of Rs 22,000 a month for the company.” Now that makes sense …right?
But what about employees?. Are they happy? Of course not, one employee of an MNC says “Some people are good and are capable of finishing even the extra work that is given to them in 8 hours. So they are wondering why they should hang around for 9 hours “
Ok I agree that increased working hours will increase the revenues but one should be paid for these extra hours because According to the Factories Act, (refer this article )workers being made to work for more than 8 hours a day have to be paid overtime. The time limit for even overtime is fixed at eight hours a week. “This is an internationally accepted norm that workers can work for 1/3rd of the 24 hours. Beyond this, workers need rest. All work beyond this limit has to be compensated in terms of overtime. I am just wondering whether this act is also applied for private firms(specially IT) or not?

Arindam on Slumdog Millionaire

Title of his article was “Don’t Watch Slumdog Millionaire ….It Sucks!”Hmm…. Overall it was the article which is quite boring and without any good logic I don’t understand how a person like him can give such an offensive statement against a good movie like Slumdog. I haven’t seen that movie yet but still I don’t think so that the movie hurt the patriotism of any Indian. If he is so disappointed by the movie than I can suggest him to close his eyes rather than picking up a pen to write such an article.
